ESR 10: Srinath Murali

Bio

Srinath received his Masters’ in Biotechnology from VIT University in Vellore, India. His maters thesis involved synthesis of multiple nano-particles and bio-composites from different polymer hydrogels. The synthesized nanoparticles were infused with the bio-composites to form nano bio-composite materials which were further studied for biomedical advantages.

Growing up in Mumbai, India, he always wanted to travel the world. He got an opportunity to work with Prof. Sobral at the University of Coimbra, Portugal for his Masters’ thesis. Currently, he works with the Nanostructures and Functional Materials (NAFUMA) research group at the University of Oslo. He believes that this PhD will give him a chance to expand his knowledge and learn a lot while also sharing some.

With a life motto of “Grow through what you go through”, his future plan is to pursue academia by teaching and spreading knowledge gathered over all of his years of research. He also wishes to teach and counsel young under-privileged children living in orphanages in India, having already experienced this albeit for a short duration.
