KU Leuven

Situated in the heart of Western Europe, KU Leuven has been a centre of learning for six centuries. It is Belgium's largest and highest-ranked university and caters to more than 60 000 Bachelor’s and Master’s students and over 4 000 doctoral students. The Ameloot Group is part of the KU Leuven Centre for Surface Chemistry and Catalysis (COK), an interdisciplinary team of over 100 researchers involved in the development, characterization and application of porous and nanostructured materials. The Ameloot Group, led by Prof. Rob Ameloot, studies different flavors of porous matter and aims to build bridges between the established use of porous materials, as adsorbents and catalysts, and the worlds of microelectronics, diagnostics and additive manufacturing.
Prof. Philippe Vereecken -expert in nanomaterials and electrochemistry for microelectronics and energy applications and team leader at IMEC- is also part-time affiliated with the COK.
