Hands-on training 1 - Hybrid coatings by MLD
The first HYCOAT Hands-on training was held from August 30th to August 31st, 2018 in Leuven, Belgium. The focus will be on characterization including topics as ellipsometry, porosimetry, FTIR, RBS, ERDA, XRD and XPS. The training will be based on introductory lectures and real-life experimenting.

Workshop 2 - Effective science communication
The second HYCOAT workshop, this time about effective science communication, took place in Leuven, Belgium from January 16-18 2019, in which ESRs were taught how to design successful visuals for academic publishing, presentation techniques and proper scientific writing.

Hands-on training 2 - In-situ characterization for MLD
In the second HYCOAT hands-on training session, the main in-situ characterization techniques for ALD/MLD were explained, and specific sessions for FTIR, spectroscopic ellipsometry and mass spectrometry were held. This event was held in Gent, Belgium between January 14-15 2019.

In this third hands-on training event, held in Cork, Ireland between April 8-9 2019, ESRs learned the skills needed to correctly carry out successful modelling of MLD processes and its applications.

Workshop 4 - Biomaterials/IP, enterpreneurship and exploitation of research results
This event, that took place between September 2-6 2019, tackled the challenges in understanding biochemical processes between biomaterials and surfaces/interfaces, and characterization methods related to it. Additionally, soft skills were also improved by highlighting the importance of proper intellectual property knowledge and entreprenurial spirit.
