ESR 06: Nithin Poonkottil

Bio

Nithin received his Masters’ in Applied Chemistry from the University of Calicut, Kerala, India in September 2017. He completed his Masters’ thesis, in a developing area “ Electroorganic synthesis” at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. During that time he had the opportunity to synthesize some novel organic compounds electrochemically. After the Masters’ course, he also had the opportunity to work on novel hybrid architectures for Photocatalysis, at the University of Calicut where he developed passion for hybrid materials.

Currently he is a PhD fellow at the University of Gent in the frame of the HYCOAT project, where he will be trying to explore the Synchrotron based in-situ characterization during Molecular Layer Deposition. He would like to quantify the morphology and internal structural of hybrid materials by using potential is-situ characterization techniques such as GISAXS, XRF etc.
