Hasselt University
Hasselt University is a young university that has grown in the past 40 years towards a dynamic centre of education, research and service to the society. The UHasselt has 5500 students and 1200 employees (2014). The Institute for Materials Research is the largest research centre (>100 fte) within the UHasselt. It focuses on the study of advanced materials systems to contribute by innovation to the societal drivers concerning sustainability and health. In this context, it has the ambition to excel in fundamental as well applied interdisciplinary research. By a combination of science, technology and talent, we strive to play a leading role that leads to scientific and/or technological achievements with economic exploitation potential that can provide solutions to the societal challenges of our time and region. The group of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry plays a leading role within the institute in the research of innovative materials and solution based deposition methods for energy storage applications.
