IMEC is a leading R&D lab for nano-electronics. IMEC in Belgium has a total of 2080 scientific collaborators and support. IMEC develops exploratory and emerging technology in ICT, healthcare and energy through innovations in nanoelectronics. The Energy Storage team located in Leuven is part of the Large Area Electronics department working on solid-state devices on foils for flexible electronics. The Energy Storage team, led by Prof. Philippe M. Vereecken, has specialized in solid-state lithium ion batteries leveraging IMEC’s expertise in thin-film and micro-processing technologies. Focus lays on interface engineering and maximizing battery performance through battery design and battery architecture.
